COMMON PLAGUE.
The alarming cost of living has made life so expensive in
Campus that there is need for lovers to share resource for survival.
Gone are the days where male students would confidently take
their spouse for a lavish treatment and still feel unshaken financially. With
the rising fee structures and demising helb loans, taking a cherished one for a
treat only spells doom to one’s budget.
In the yesterday, the first semesters was the most treasured
moment for campus ladies ’freshers’. They would enjoy the company and treats
offered by their newly acquired lovers but now the lifestyle of Moi University
has changed from that of fun to gloom. Many Gentlemen in Campus remain
skeptical about love affairs because maintaining one is beyond their wallet
reach.
Not only male students are victims of the plague. Ladies too
get a share of financial crisis, a lady in Campus has to attractive to arrest
the man’s imagination. To acquire the cute and sophisticated look the young
ladies need money for manicure and pedicure to gain attraction.
Both men and ladies have to adopt new demands that can save
them from financial uneasiness. Instead of going to expensive leisure’s in town
on a weekend they prefer staying in campus and can save the day by watching
video shows parting with as little as Ksh30 per couple.
Comrades’ partners now operate common budgets where they
settle for cheap commodities and services. Those who are in dead lock financial
crisis have put a stop to affairs while others have adopted the weekend’s
relationship club.
