The Soft AA
They look like
soft drinks, taste like soft drinks and are sold like soft drinks. But there
are similarity stops. Alcohol also referred to as liquor, booze, wine and
beer is the widest controlled substance used in campus. The most
prominent effect of alcohol is dependency.
According to
statistics 65% of university freshmen are alcoholics or enrolled in an
AA(Alcoholic Addict) program ending their freshman year. The symptoms of
alcohol intoxication include limited to slurred speech, blurred vision,
awkwardness or loss of coordination, poor judgment and highly volatile
behavior.
Students fail to
realize they are supposed to be in school getting an education and preparing
for their career. Substance abuse during these years can significantly affect
academic performance and stop you from making good decisions.
Ditching class and
not studying for exams to use alcohol will quickly cause any student to
fall to the bottom of her class. It can even stop you from being able
to focus or concentrate in class even if you decide to attend. Thus, alcohol use
can severely limit the value of your education.
so true Amon... good advice.. word for thought
