They look like soft drinks, taste like soft drinks and are sold like soft drinks. But there are similarity stops. Alcohol also referred to as liquor, booze, wine and beer is the widest controlled substance used in campus.  The most prominent effect of alcohol is dependency.

According to statistics 65% of university freshmen are alcoholics or enrolled in an AA(Alcoholic Addict) program ending their freshman year.  The symptoms of alcohol intoxication include limited to slurred speech, blurred vision, awkwardness or loss of coordination, poor judgment and highly volatile behavior.

Students fail to realize they are supposed to be in school getting an education and preparing for their career. Substance abuse during these years can significantly affect academic performance and stop you from making good decisions.

Ditching class and not studying for exams to use alcohol will quickly cause any student to fall to the bottom of her class. It can even stop you from being able to focus or concentrate in class even if you decide to attend. Thus, alcohol use can severely limit the value of your education.

    Alcoholism have never stopped, addicts are always there and give business to bar owners, poor them they make other people rich while poverty overcomes them like an armed man

Mr. Charles Ringera the Chief Executive Officer has issued a rather controversial order that no graduate will enter the job market without producing the clearance certificate from helb. The policy which is in the making and can be implemented very soon will affect many students in Moi University since majority of students relies on helb for education support. Any graduate who wants to be employs will be recurred to produce a clearance certificate from helb or have a part with K sh 1000 in order to get the certificate to either prove that the graduate is servicing the loan or has cleared it before being allowed to start a job. This rule will apply to both helb beneficiary and non-beneficiaries. The news is not likely to be received by students. How can one be expected to pay the loan without getting the job first? Is helb a help or a hell?

Peer pressure is a venom that kills the morality of many campus students. The most surprising fact is that no matter how bad the morality health is deteriorating, no one seems to care enough to get antidotes but continue to pump in more and more killer venom into their veins and their blood becomes full of it. In basic physics, when you stretch a spiral ring past the limit point it loses its function.  It’s funny on how many guys in campus will enjoy their lives to the fullest without having to boast of how many girls they had themselves involved with sexually or how many bashes and shisha parties they are going to attend and smoke?
